ReelStory: Tyler Perry's Influence
Palmer: I had met Mr. Perry a long time ago and a lot of people always joked with me when I said, "Mr. Perry." Well, I mean... this man signs my check, so I have the upmost respect for him. He's really blessed my family to the point where it's going to affect the generation after me. He saw in me in a show a long, long, time ago but we lost touch, one particular day he was at my church and while I was dancing, Mr. Perry was actually there. The next day he had somebody from his office call the church and the person that answered the phone just happened to have my cell number and called me and said that I have an audition for you. I went to my audition which as supposed to be 15 minutes and it lasted 2 hours
That night they called and said we want you to be on "House of Payne". 6 days later, I was on "House of Payne," I was supposed to shoot six episodes, but now it's been 6 1/2 years that I've been working with Mr. Perry. It's been nothing short of a blessing, it's enriched my life, hopefully he realizes he's been a game changer in my family's bloodline.
